White and Black

White and Black

There are some things I can't take back,
But things aren't always white and black,
Sometimes there's gray in between,
What I know is what you've seen,
But things that I have kept from you,
Aren't the lies you thought you knew,
I felt that you would change the way,
You looked at me everyday,
I want you to know I had to taste life,
Even though it caused trouble and strife,
That's just the way I chose to go,
But what I did hurt you, I know,
You don't see that with each day,
More and more I have prices to pay,
Everything was ripped from me,
You don't see you possess that key,
I got lost and couldn't get out,
And to me you'd yell and shout,
That only tore at my soul,
What comforts me is that pull,
That pull that caused that change in me,
Always there, never I'm free,
Because the thought of it filled my brain,
Knowing I had no more to gain,
But with each day I cannot breath,
I want you to know I didn't deceive,
If only you knew,
What all I've gone through,
Then maybe you would see that gray,
And make me not pay for it everyday,
You don't know the pain I endure,
I don't even know what's my cure,
Because I know I can't go back,
But things aren't always white and black.
